P4 Carr: Revolution Reading

So, Dragons, now is the time to select which book you wish to use for your Q4 Revolution assignments.

You should select a book that inspires you in some way so that you can maintain and follow through on a series of connected assignments with enthusiasm and creativity.

  • Your selection CANNOT be a book that has already been made into a film or TV series that has been released to the US public (e.g., The Hunger Games).
  • If it is a sequel that is currently in production, you may use it as long as you do NOT incorporate any of the promotional, casting or musical pieces for the commercial version.
  • You should not use a book that was assigned reading from the past 2 years...the goal was to have you read a book of your CHOICE.
Please start your post in the comment section below with your first name and last initial followed by your EDA period #.

Please post the complete title and author of your choice following your ID information.

When finished posting, move to your AP Revolution page and complete it for the book you chose.

If you have not selected a book, you must check one out today or Friday from G105 at FIRE time.

Bring your Revolution book to EDA each day for project work and silent reading.

Title: The Fault in Our Stars

    Author: John Green http://johngreenbooks.com/

Date started book: April 5, 2013

Date finished book: April 8, 2013

What does the “blurb” on the cover say? Please type the blurb and the name of the person who wrote the blurb:
“Electric.... filled with staccato burst of humor and tragedy.” -Jodi Picoult

Write out two quotes that you think are memorable and write a sentence or two about
    why you like the quote:
“Okay.” It maybe only a one worded sentence, but it contains so much meaning. It’s hard to explain, but to Hazel and Augustus, it meant “Always”.

“You gave me a forever within the numbered days, and I’m grateful.” I just loved how this sentence was worded and you could tell that Hazel loved Augustus a lot from that single sentence.

I would recommend/not recommend this book because:
I definitely recommend this book, because it’s so beautiful and John Green is one of my favorite authors and this book was so well written. I was crying, laughing, and you won’t even believe the amount of times I said “Awe”.

What was your favorite part of the book?
My favorite part of the book was Augustus’ letter to Hazel.

What will you remember about this book?
What I will remember from this book will definitely be “okay”, because it’s simple and yet, it has so much behind it.

On a scale of 1-5 Potatoes, 5 being highest, I rank this book: 5 POTATOES
